Situated in the heart of Los Feliz at 2110 Hillhurst Avenue, The Set Dispensary is positioned just a stone’s throw from Hollywood and prominent music venues such as the Greek Theatre. The design achieves a harmonious balance between a modern cannabis retail experience and paying homage to the production efforts of the movie and music industries.
RDC’s Interior Design team crafted a retail environment that embraces the rich cultural fabric of its surroundings. Visitors are welcomed by large, illuminating windows that boldly contrast the sophisticated and moody interior aesthetics. This ambiance serves as the perfect “set” for showcasing classic movies, prominently introducing new products and hosting the occasional interlude of live performances.
Beyond the darkened entrance, a unique passage shaped reminiscent of a camera lens beckons guests into the main retail area. Here, an immersive showroom unfolds where thoughtfully arranged cannabis displays coexist with vintage cinematic memorabilia, such as rolling trucks and film reels. To enhance the customer journey, a VIP lounge has been conveniently situated near the checkout area, providing an inviting space for guests to interact and collaborate.
The project also included strategic architectural modifications to the entrance and roof, aimed at optimizing customer convenience and security. These enhancements have breathed new life into the original 1921 structure, transforming it into an inviting retail destination.
The completion of The Set signifies the latest in RDC’s design innovation, successfully melding the allure of the film and music industries within a modern cannabis retail experience. This project has not only revitalized a significant retail landmark but also encapsulates a vibrant slice of Los Angeles’ cultural identity.
